Rub-A-Dub Race for Rescues is an annual event to bring awareness to local animal rescues and more importantly the fact that pure breed animals are found in rescues.

There is a misconception that rescues only have old, sick and disabled animals and this is the furthest from the truth. Thousands of animals die everyday in shelters due to over breeding. People think that the only way they can get a pure breed dog is to buy a pet. There are more pure breed dogs turned into local shelters everyday. These dogs then go to rescues (when space is available) in hopes that they can find forever homes.

These rescues spay/neuter their pets, have them completely vaccinated and take care of any medical problems that they have. This is not inexpensive. Rescues need money to continue to save pets.

Rub-A-Dub Race for Rescues brings awareness to these rescues and helps raise money for these rescues to continue to operate. Rub-A-Dub will have a 5K sanctioned run for both runners with and without dogs, a dog wash and many other fun activities for the whole family.

We encourage everyone to come out, enjoy all the festivities, bring your dog and take advantage of all the activities that will be happening at the event. We want to also promote healthy lifestyles for both humans and pets.
